Contract Value:

$128M AUD

The Club Stand is a $128 million state-of-the-art facility set to revolutionize the raceday experience at Flemington.

Construction commenced on the new Club Stand after the 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival. The project will create an estimated 350 jobs during its construction. The Stand will be the tenth grandstand built at Flemington since 1865.

The five-level Club Stand offers sweeping 360-degree views of the Mounting Yard, race track and Members’ Lawn to the south; Parade Ring and day stalls to the east; Betting Ring to the north; and existing grandstands and Winning Post to the west. An external walkway at first floor level will wrap around the entire perimeter, connecting to the existing Members’ Stand and the Parade Ring while a central north-south corridor linking the Betting Ring with the Members’ Lawn and Mounting Yard at the heart of the stand. There will be a rooftop garden on the top level of the stand.

WT was appointed in 2012 by VRC to provide cost planning and estimating services for the new Members’ Club Stand. Design of the project was finalized with WT engaged to provide assistance during the six month tender documentation period and also to provide post contract cost management during construction.
