The renovation aims to upgrade the arena’s infrastructure, enhance the fan experience, and improve the facility’s capabilities to host university and external events. The upgrades are intended to preserve the arena’s historic importance while modernizing its amenities and functionality for players, staff, and spectators.
The renovation includes upgrades to seating areas to enhance comfort for fans, with the potential for expanded seating capacity to accommodate more spectators. It focuses on modernizing locker rooms and training areas for the hockey teams, providing athletes with state-of-the-art facilities for preparation and recovery. The arena’s sound system and scoreboards are being upgraded to include high-definition video displays and better audio capabilities to enhance the in-game experience for fans. The project includes improvements to the arena’s HVAC systems and lighting to increase energy efficiency, in line with sustainability goals for the university.
