WT SOLIDIFIES ITSELF AS INDEPENDENT CERTIFIER MARKET LEADER.

Burnaby, BC — WT Partnership (WT) has been retained by EllisDon and Fraser Health Authority as Independent Certifier for phase one of the redevelopment of the Burnaby Hospital in British Columbia (BC).

Off the heels of several BC area commissions, WT was selected via a competitive bid process to support the project consortium in meeting it’s objectives — bolstering a community hospital serving the healthcare needs of the over 246,000 residents across Burnaby, BC.

VITAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR BURNABY

Centrally located between Boundary and Willingdon, Burnaby Hospital provides a full range of primary and secondary acute care services, as well as a number of specialized services, such as 24/7 emergency care, general and internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, level one and two obstetrics, neonatal intensive care and tertiary palliative care, adult psychiatry, ambulatory care and other outpatient clinics.

Phase One redevelopment plans look to improve patient outcomes, access and overall experience via upgraded HVAC systems and modernized facilities, including a new six level Inpatient/Outpatient Tower, which will aid in improving safety standards, as well as the quality of work environment for staff. Additionally, campus-wide LEED Gold energy efficiency goals for all new buildings will be met across the expansion of support facilities and aided by the renovation and repair of the medical campus’ existing steam boiler plant.

WT IN THE REGION

With three active healthcare Independent Certifier mandates in BC, as well as Penticton Regional Hospital Patient Care Tower, which achieved Substantial Completion in December 2018, WT has established itself as a leader in the provision of consulting services in the market.

“Given our recent and ongoing experience with St Paul’s Hospital and Royal Inland Hospital and Patient Care Tower commissions, we feel our clients can rest assured that our team will ‘hit the ground running’ thanks to our successful record of certifying successful completion,” remarked Phil Nixon, Executive Vice-President.
