As Aedan Biesty wraps up his summer internship with WT, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the experience, contributions, and growth he’s achieved over the past three months.
During his time with the team, Aedan gained hands-on project exposure from healthcare facilities and police infrastructure to major public sector developments. He had the opportunity to support real projects that are shaping communities.
“I had a really good time this summer interning at WT. Working with multidisciplinary teams and visiting project sites to evaluate construction progress gave me broad exposure to the industry.” – Aedan Biesty
Throughout the internship, Aedan contributed to project reporting on assignments including the OPP Modernization – Phase 3, Part 1, the Ontario Science Centre Relocation, and the Northern and Southern Alberta Compassionate Intervention Centres. He also participated in site visits to projects such as The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Phase 1D, and South Niagara Hospital, documenting construction progress and gaining first-hand insight into project delivery.
Reflecting on his experience, Aedan shared, “I had a really good time this summer interning at WT, where I spent the last few months learning the ins and outs of quantity surveying. Working with multidisciplinary teams and visiting project sites to evaluate construction progress gave me broad exposure to the industry. I also enjoyed experiencing daily corporate life. From site visits to grabbing lunch with coworkers, I had an enriching time over the last three months.”
At WT, we’re committed to creating opportunities for emerging professionals to gain meaningful industry experience, work alongside experienced practitioners, and contribute to projects that make a difference.
As Aedan returns to the University of Alberta to continue his degree in Mechatronics Engineering, we thank him for his contributions and wish him every success in the next stage of his journey. Good luck, Aedan. We’re excited to see what the future holds.
