Meet Jon

Senior Vice-President
Based: Toronto

Working out of the Toronto office, my focus areas are Independent Certification and Payment Certification services for infrastructure projects. I have an extensive background in mechanical and electrical services and worked for several years in the UK for a large full service global P3 Contractor. He holds a B.Sc. honours degree in Building Service Engineering (Commercial Management). Since moving to Canada in 2011, I have developed special expertise in compliance and commissioning monitoring for large-scale infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, education, recreation, commercial, residential and transit.

I have led the typical IC commissioning monitoring and review tasks for numerous projects in Canada and have an unparalleled track record of administering a project close out process in order to successfully certify Substantial Completion and Final Completion on time. Immediately prior to joining WT Partnership, I was a Director within a large Canadian P3 Consultancy and was responsible for the Independent Certification service line in Ontario/Eastern Canada.

Largest project undertaken

Eglinton LRT – The Eglinton Crosstown is the cornerstone of a $8.4 billion investment. The service will link to 54 local bus routes, three TTC interchange subway stations and GO Transit. The Crosstown line will run underground for more than 10 kilometres, from Keele Street to Laird Avenue, then at surface to Kennedy Station.

The project, which is under construction now, is creating thousands of design and construction jobs, and will provide lasting economic benefits to Toronto and its surrounding region.  Jon understook the Independent Certifier with his previous firm before joining WT in 2017.
