The Maanjiwe Nendamowinan building is home to University of Toronto Mississauga’s English and drama, philosophy, historical studies, language studies, political science and sociology and the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre.
The new six-storey building replaces the original North Building and features an event space, 3,716m2 of new classroom space, active learning classrooms, and 500 new study spaces. Sustainability features, such as rainwater recycling, energy-efficient mechanical systems and green roof space, resulted in a LEED Silver designation.
WT provided comprehensive cost management, payment certifier, and change control services throughout the project. This included overseeing project budgeting and cost planning, certifying monthly progress payments in accordance with contract requirements, and managing the assessment, validation, and documentation of changes to ensure cost and scope control across all phases of delivery.
