The new long-term care facility is a state-of-the-art elder care campus in Corner Brook and is the first P3 project for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The facility accommodates 120 long-term care beds, 15 palliative care beds, and 10 rehabilitative care beds. The project was delivered by the design, build, finance, maintain (DBFM) model, and achieved LEED v4 Silver certification.
WT provided Independent Certifier services in support of the construction period in relation to the Design, Building, Finance and Maintenance (DBFM) of the project. Scope of work included consulting with the Design-Builder, conducting inspections of the construction, monthly reporting, review and comment on deficiencies, and issue certificates of completion.
The project is adjoined to the new Corner Brook Acute Care Facility, where WT also provided Independent Certifier services.
