The Adult Corrections Facility Replacement project involves the replacement of Her Majesty’s Penitentiary, one of the oldest operating prisons in Canada dating back to 1859. The P3 project is being delivered under the Design, Build, Finance, Maintain (DBFM) model.
The new facility will include:
- 395 beds
- Service for both male and female residents
- Health Services Unit
- Expanded Resident Program and Recreation Services
- Modern training and wellness space for support staff and correctional officers
WT was jointly appointed by to serve as the Independent Certifier, providing independent oversight of design and construction delivery, verifying progress, quality, and readiness for service commencement in accordance with the Project Agreement.
