WT Partnership has been selected to conduct a Joint Technical Review for the facility. The project is part of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services' strategy to combat health and safety issues. The Project will modernize the outdated facilities - addressing the current inefficiencies of design. The Project will focus on incorporating new technology and maximizing space by replacing older facilities. The current facilities fail to meet the operational requirements/expectations and as pressure mounted, it was time for a new facility. 

WT are pleased to announce our role as the Independent Certifier on the Toronto Courthouse Project.

The project known as ‘Ravenhall Prison Project’ entails the design, construction, operation and financing of a 1,300 bed medium-security male prison under a PPP arrangement.

WT has been selected as the Independent Certifier for the Ontario Provincial Police Modernization Phase 2 Project. The Project will be delivered via a design, build and finance (DBF) structured contract. Bird Construction will be charged with the design and build. Bird Construction will also own the concession responsible for the financing of the project.

The Project will consist of an estimated 230,000 gross square foot vertical New Courthouse and a separate 600+ stall Parking Structure with the capacity to develop to 1,100 spaces.

The project comprises the expansion of the existing Ararat Prison to create an additional 358 medium security male beds in a campus style setting bring the total capacity of the prison to 740.

The multi-security-level prison will accommodate both genders in a mixture of traditional cell blocks and cottage type accommodation.  Construction works commenced August 2013 and the new prison is due for completion late 2015.

WT was appointed by Activate408 to provide a broad range of bid phase Project Advisory services including Lenders’ Technical Advisor, Capital Cost Estimating, Commercial Support and Facilities Management.

WT, in conjunction with Aurecon, supported GEO Group in the development of their bid for their second term renewal at the Fulham Prison which was first let circa 1996.
