WT doubles down on P3 momentum with Senior Hire, Tom Kness

Leading advisory firm WT welcomes Tom Kness, Vice-President to expert P3 Advisory group.

SANTA MONICA, CA — WT Partnership (“WT”) announces the hire of Vice President-P3 Advisory, Tom Kness. Based in WT’s growing Santa Monica office, Kness brings more than 26 years of procurement, operations and project delivery experience. During the last 16 years, Tom has led public sector P3 and design-build transactions valued at more than $13 billion in aviation, commuter rail, parking, lighting, higher education, public buildings and toll roads.

Kness has been a trailblazer in infrastructure procurement and earned a number of firsts in his field, including the first aviation Public-Private Partnership (P3) of its kind to improve LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal; the first state-wide lighting P3, which helped Michigan upgrade to energy saving LED lights on its freeways and tunnels; the first P3 for a large university campus expansion, the University of California-Merced, which helped expedite construction to accommodate a rapidly growing student body.

Prior to joining WT, Kness served as a senior director for global consulting firm, Alvarez & Marsal. Before that, Kness was director of P3 Advisory for the multinational engineering firm AECOM. Earlier, he worked in the Mayor’s office for the City of Chicago.

WT’s P3 Advisory business has experienced record growth in the market, including owner and developer side roles on projects across North America in both Social and Transport Infrastructure including emerging deals at the Port of San Francisco Historic Piers, New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District and University of Texas, San Antonio.
