Tim Burrows has extensive experience cutting through the green-wash that plagues energy and sustainability consulting to drive tangible commercial benefits through a variety of precise strategies.
Tim has over 27 years of international engineering and project management experience which includes the provision of advice to corporations on emissions trading and greenhouse gas management. His broader experience includes project management of several multi-million-dollar capital works projects, design lead on a range of industrial design projects in the manufacturing sector and management of feasibility studies.
Previous roles include:
- 2020 PROJECT DBfM P3 (UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, MERCED): Tim is acting in an energy efficiency/measurement and verification role on one of the largest, most complex social infrastructure mega-projects undertaken in the US to date, UC Merced’s 2020 Project DBfM P3.In an effort to support a significant increase in student intake, the Merced campus expansion includes enhancements to academic, administrative, research, recreational, student residence and student services buildings, makerspace, utilities and associated infrastructure. WT Partnership has been engaged from developer proposals through to operational handover and following an expansive evaluation of value for money, WT has generated initiatives worth over $130 million in cost savings.
- FEASIBILITY STUDIES (VARIOUS CLIENTS): Acting in the roles of Project Director and Strategic Advisor, Tim has managed in-depth feasibility studies and project reporting for various clients across the Pacific Northwest. Areas of expertise covered included; sustainable energy, sourcing utility incentives, carbon markets and climate change strategy and energy efficiency/verifying energy cost savings. Industry sectors served comprised of higher education, municipal, commercial and industrial/manufacturing.
- ENERGY AUDITS (VARIOUS CLIENTS): Acting in the roles of Project Director and Lead Auditor, Tim has managed energy audits across 35 facilities for various clients. Industry sectors served comprised of food and beverage production, printing, sports and aquatic centers, an educational facility and a chemical products facility.
- CARBON MARKET AND CLIMATE CHANGE STRATEGY FINAL REPORT (CONFIDENTIAL GENTAILER): Acting in the role of Carbon Market and Climate Change Strategic Advisor, Tim prepared a final report for a major gentailer, analyzing its strategic options with respect to electric vehicle technology. The engagement included a site visit to the Southern California Edison electric vehicle test facility. Meetings with several other leaders in electric vehicle technology indirectly enabled the subsequent strategic partnership between the gentailer and an electric vehicle startup company.
