The MBTA AFC 2.0 project is the design, build, finance, maintenance and operation of an automated fare collection system across Boston, Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commissioned the development of the new fare payment system for the region’s multi-modal transit system. This will allow payments using smartphones or contactless credit cards at fare gates and fare boxes. This is the first project delivered by the MBTA as a public-private partnership. This asset is one of the top ten investments in its region by total equity investment by Equitix.

WT is providing Independent Certifier services inclusive of contract compliance and project monitoring.
