MacDonald Block Reconstruction

The Macdonald Block complex in Downtown Toronto has a total gross floor area of approximately 1.7 million square feet split across 4 towers and is more than 50 years old. The reconstruction will modernize all areas including mechanical, electrical, finishes, and exterior envelope works for use by the Government of Ontario as office space for more than 3,600 workers. The project also involves a 30-year maintenance component following Substantial Completion.

WT provided a full suite of pre-bid due diligence services to the successful proponent which included a review of the commercial structure, cost, schedule, and overall technical solution for the project through to financial close. WT is now certifying construction costs and delivering monthly monitoring reports to lenders.
